Austin tech firm Personiv acquired by India-based eClerx

Austin-based Personiv, a business process management and services company, has been acquired by eClerx, an India-based IT consulting and outsourcing firm.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

Personiv focuses on business process management and services for the outsourcing accounting space. It will continue operating independently and will retain all 2,000 fof its employees, of which eight are in Austin, according to the company. Most of Personiv's staffers work at delivery centers in India and the Philippines.

India-based eClerx provides business process management, analytics and automation services to enterprises. The company already has an Austin presence, as in 2017 it chose Austin as the Americas headquarters for its eClerx Digital division.

After the acquisition, eClerx will have more than 11,000 employees globally. 

David Lesniak, CEO of Personiv, said the companies are combining to provide expanded outsourcing services including virtual accounting talent and customer experience.

 PD Mundhra, co-founder and executive director of eClerx, said the two companies share a similar client-centered culture.  

"Through this acquisition, we add new clients – many in the underserved small and medium-business sector – deepen service capabilities in digital and customer care, and add finance and accounting as a service," Mundhra said. "Personiv's locations across India and the Philippines provide additional delivery capabilities, and we add a very capable management team to the eClerx family."
